Margaret is the founder and Managing Partner at BlueLake Partners, a technology focused mergers & acquisition investment banking firm. Margaret dwells on the strategic value of a company to a buyer: a company's value is the sum of an amorphous combination of: market opportunity, intellectual property, product development, sales, distribution and marketing.
Margaret has extensive experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, capital markets, private placements and venture capital. In addition, Margaret is Managing Partner of BlueLake's affiliated broker-dealer, BLP Advisors, LLC, a FINRA, SIPC, where she also serves a Chief Compliance Officer. Margaret holds Series 7, 24, 27, 79 and 63 licenses.
Margaret recognizes that the impact of technology is not just on BLP's clients, but also on the broker-dealer industry. She focuses on creating and adapting BlueLake to the changes wrought by the internet, rapid technology advances in communication methods and the growing regulatory environment. As such, BlueLake has a presence in Silicon Valley and has forged alliances with numerous technology industry experts in specific vertical markets. Margaret is also an Executive Producer with the popular and global internet TV program, "This Week in Startups," hosted by Jason Calacanis.
Previously, Margaret was an employee-founder of Manhattan-based, Needham & Company, a leading technology investment bank. Margaret originated the Firm's private placement practice, and was at various times responsible for the Firm's new business practice, software industry business, and head of the Boston-based New England office. She was responsible for numerous public offerings, company sales, restructurings and private placements. She worked across industry sectors in the software, communication, internet, storage and semiconductor industries.
Prior to Needham & Company, Margaret was an associate at the venture capital firm Harrison Capital, Inc. (HCI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Texaco. Margaret identified potential investments, made and monitored investments and served on portfolio company board of directors.
Margaret has an MBA from the Harvard Business School, an MS in Engineering from Stanford University and a BS from the Columbia University School of Applied Science and Engineering.
